Historical marker: The Old Parker Tavern

One eighth of a mile to the simple home of an ordinary man, Abraham Bryant, built in the year 1680. Its hand-hewn oak frame, enormous central chimney, and the original casement windows with diamond-shaped panes remain. Once known as Parker Tavern, it served as a wayside inn and is now preserved by the Reading Antiquarian Society.

In Reading Center, on Main St at Washington St intersection. The marker is on the east side of the road, near the town common.

Summary
